Portable appliance testing, or PAT testing is an important part of risk assessment safety in the workplace. Electrical equipment regulations require employers to carry out electrical appliance testing on a regular basis and to keep up-to-date records of a PAT test.   4. Labeling of electrical appliances with a unique identification number conforming to electrical equipment regulations.
  5. Production of an Electrical equipment safety register containing PAT test and electrical inspection results
  6. A PAT test schedule and reminder service
  7. All our PAT testing is carried out by qualified electrical engineers using equipment which is I.T. safe.

Electrical Equipment Safety Regulations

The Health and Safety Executive Memorandum of Guidance to the Electricity at Work regulations advises that employers keep records of all equipment inspections and PAT test results throughout the work life of that electrical equipment.

The Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998 require every employer to ensure that electrical equipment is suitable for the use for which it is provided and only used for work for which it is suitable. They also require every employer to ensure electrical equipment is maintained in good order and inspected as necessary to ensure that it's maintained in a safe condition.
